[Talk Talk Market] Chilseong Market in Daegu

[Talk Talk Market]
Chilseong Market in Daegu

Chilseong Market was opened in 1946 and it used to be called ‘Bungmun Market’. There are two big markets in Daegu : Chilseong Market and Seomun Market. They are crowded with lots of people in Daegu as well as around Gyeongsnagbuk-do.

What is the first thing in your mind when you hear of the market? Of course, lots of things! Especially, it is famous for flower and vegetable and fruit market! Because Daegu is known for a region of delicious apple called Korean crab-apple, you can buy fresh apples at a low price there. Do you know sellers in smaller markets and some supermarkets also buy them in this market?

Also, you can buy the freshet seafoods in this market even though Daegu is inland province. And many children and their parents visit here to buy cute stationery!

If you’re a frugal customer, visit Chilseong Market in Daegu J

[Enjoy Food] Jangheung Samhap

[Enjoy Food]
Jangheung Samhap

Do you know Samhap? It is a popular Korean regional cuisine. It consists of cooked pork, kimchi and hongeohoe (fermented raw Raja Kenojei). Jangheung has its unique Samhap! It consists of Korean beef, shiitake mushroom and pen shells. All ingredients are produced in Jangheung. It is more famous on a national scale when Korean TV show ‘One Day Two Nights’ introduced it.

The way you enjoy it is very simple. You choose one of bucher’s shops, buy specific parts of beef you want and enter the restaurant which has a sign ‘Samhap’. It’s done!

Where are the mushrooms and shells? The restaurant employee will prepare them with a hot grill.

If you don’t like original Samhap because of its sharp-tasting, Try Jangheung Samhap! You can enjoy a mild taste. Do you know some people visit Jangheung intentionally only for this?

Don’t forget to enjoy it :P
